Juliet Italian Kitchen is heading north. On September 21, the restaurant adjacent to Zilker Park announced plans to open a second location in the Arboretum in February 2021.
Known for his modern twists on Italian classics, Juliet brings many fan favorites to his North Austin locale, including hand-thrown pizzas, chicken piccata, meatballs, and handmade pasta. There will also be a number of new dishes specially prepared for the new location by Chef Bryan Cromwell. The offer is rounded off by a robust wine list and a cocktail menu with seasonal sippers and Italian classics.
In the spirit of the expansive patio of the original Barton Springs Road location, the new Juliet “offers spacious outdoor seating and a relaxed atmosphere perfect for family dinners, lunches, dates, and business meetings.” Like the original with its airy anteroom and hidden rooms that are reminiscent of a wagon, the Arboretum restaurant also offers private dining rooms.
“The new location offers what guests know and love about Juliet Italian Kitchen – a locally owned destination for your favorite Italian and American classics, great wine and cocktails in a unique Austin setting,” said Emily O’Connor, General manager of a publication.
Once Juliet Italian Kitchen at 10000 Research Blvd. open, it is open seven days a week and serves lunch, dinner, happy hour, and weekend brunch. Although Juliet won’t open until next year, she will start hiring all positions in November, including the front and back of the house.
“We are excited to expand the Juliet experience to a second location in our growing city,” said owner Dan Wilkins. “We look forward to joining the neighborhood and creating jobs in our community.”
This is the first expansion announcement for Juliet, which opened on Barton Springs Road in 2015. Though it briefly closed in 2017 to refit (and redecorate), it reopened a few months later with a new menu and streamlined new look.
