Woman shot in road rage incident in Southeast Austin

The Austin Police are investigating a road traffic incident in which a woman was in critical condition in southeast Austin.

APD says Austin 911 received a call shortly after 7 p.m. on Dec. 26 about an injured woman who was shot dead in a traffic incident. The officers came and found that she was being looked after by family members and neighbors.

ATCEMS took the woman to an area hospital where the APD says she is currently in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

Detectives and crime scene departments opened an investigation and learned that the shooting occurred around 7 p.m. in the Todd Lane and S. Pleasant Valley Road area. APD says the exact motive and circumstances of this incident are still being investigated, but detectives currently don’t believe the victim knew the shooter or shooters.
