Austin city officials were due to provide an update Monday on the impact and recovery efforts after days of freezing weather.
The update, which is set for 3:30 p.m., comes when Austin Water lifted its boiling water notification for parts of central Austin, including downtown, East Austin, and Southeast Austin. Due to the historic frost last week, many were out of water due to power outages and frozen pipes, affecting Austin water supplies for days.
Austin City Manager Spencer Cronk, Greg Meszaros, Austin City Food Policy Director, Edwin Marty, and Denise Lucas, Development Services Director, are expected to attend the briefing.
