Architecture is one of the rare art forms that invites the viewer into the work. Instead of being a passive observer, we can track and touch, interact and be amazed. This year the AIA Austin Homes Tour, arguably Austin’s premier architecture tour, is back with its most exciting cast to date. The 32nd AIA Austin Homes Tour 2018 runs from October 27-28 and features 14 of the best homes in Austin (and one in San Marcos).
As in most years, some of the city’s most iconic and impressive architecture firms will be represented at the weekend, including A Parallel Architecture, A. Gruppo Architects, Chas Architects, Clayton & Little, Dick Clark + Associates, FAB Architecture, Hugh Jefferson Randolph Architects and Jay Hargrave Architecture, Matt Fajkus Architecture, Restructure Studio, Side Angle Side, Tim Cuppett Architects, Webber + Studio Architects and Weiss Architecture.
A range of styles is on display, from opulent new builds (see you, Dick Clark + Associates) to a 1970s remodeling by A. Gruppo’s team of experts. The self-guided tour takes place on both Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
For the first time, AIA Austin is offering special VIP wristbands for $ 75, including a t-shirt, participation in an architect-led tour of a selected home, and an invitation to the after-party on the evening of October 28th.
Tickets are available now for $ 35 online or in person at AIA Austin, Arete Kitchens, Nannie Inez and Urbanspace. Wristbands can also be purchased for $ 45 during the tour.
