The San Francisco-based Indian grocery chain announces expansion into Austin
One of the best Indian restaurants in San Francisco, Curry Up Now is coming to Texas next year. The chain, which offers mash-up creations like Tikka Masala Burritos, a tandoori fried chicken sandwich, will initially open in Dallas in 2021 and then expand to Austin at an as-yet-unspecified date. Curry Up Now started as a food truck in 2009 and now has multiple locations across the country. Another 40 are currently in development.
Governor Abbott renews the Comfort Food Care package program
Texas Governor Greg Abbott said the Comfort Food Care Package (CFCP) program started in March will continue over the holidays. The program enables people to buy family meals in restaurants, which are then delivered to families in need. This is determined by participating in programs such as government sponsored programs like CASA. Here you can find participating restaurants and order meals.
Fluff meringues and more are popping up at the Westlake Hotel
Wayback Cafe & Cottages is hosting Burnet Road Bakery Fluff Meringues and More as a pop-up this winter. Hotel guests and the public can order coffee and tea, a light breakfast (think scones and clotted cream), pastry boxes, and of course, meringues. The popup is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and takes takeaway orders by phone, in person or online (with 48-hour notice).
