Police searching for suspect linked to east Austin food mart robbery

AUSTIN (KXAN) – Austin Police are seeking help from the public in identifying a man allegedly involved in an armed robbery at an East Austin grocery store.

According to police, on the night of March 16, a man with a black, semi-automatic pistol came to the Best Stop Food Mart on 1130 Airport Boulevard.

The man showed the clerk the gun and asked for money. The man originally walked out of the store, but possibly in a vehicle in a nearby neighborhood, police say.

The police describe the suspect as:

  • Hispanic male
  • 25-35 years old
  • Stocky build
  • Approximately 5’6 “- 5’8” tall
  • Shoulder length hair
  • Last seen with a black headscarf, orange face covering, white t-shirt, camouflage cargo shorts and white / black shoes.
