Police looking for Northeast Austin aggravated robbery suspect

Austin Police are seeking help from the public in finding a serious robbery suspect.

The robbery occurred on Wednesday, January 6th, around 2:55 p.m. at Remco Auto Insurance on 8700 N. Lamar Boulevard in northeast Austin.

Police say the suspect entered the store and pointed a small black pistol at an employee asking for money. The suspect took an unknown amount of cash and fled the area on foot. He was last seen heading west on Fairfield Drive. The employee was not injured.

The suspect is described as follows:

  • Black or Spanish man
  • About 5’9 “
  • Estimated between 25 and 35 years old
  • Short haircut, faded on the sides
  • Black tattoo on right forearm
  • Last seen in a black t-shirt with “OP” on the front, red Champion shorts with the logo on the side, white Champion slider flip-flops, black socks and black head / face cover

Detectives ask anyone with information on this case to call the APD Robbery Tip Number at (512) 974-5092, Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS, submit a tip on the Crime Stoppers website, or the Crime Stoppers app use. All information is anonymous and can be rewarded with rewards of up to $ 1,000.
