AUSTIN, TEXAS – The Austin skyline is set to change again with a new high-rise condominium tower slated for the Rainey Street district, developers announced on Wednesday.
Canada-based real estate developer Intracorp announced plans for the first Austin development, a high-rise condominium tower on 44 East Avenue in Rainey Street, which is scheduled to break in the spring of 2020 and begin construction in the fall of 2022. Intracorp officials announced the plans in a press release released on Wednesday.
According to the report, the structure was designed by the renowned architects Page Architects in Austin. The new housing development on East Avenue at the corner of Cummings Street will be 51 stories high and approximately 50 meters high. Covering a total area of around 460,000 square meters, the tower will contain around 330 homes for sale, a mix of efficiently designed 1 and 2 bedroom homes and larger 1 to 4 bedroom homes and some impressive penthouse options. Around 3,000 square meters on the ground floor will also be available for retail / dining space. An on-site parking structure will include over 500 parking spaces for both tenants as well as some for the public, according to Intracorp representatives. Intracorp employees described a methodological process that involved hiring highly regarded local companies to bring their considerable talent to the project, including selecting Page as the lead architect for development with Larry Speck as the senior principal. According to official information, Page will also lead the interior design for the houses. Michael Hsu’s architectural office will take over the interior design for the common rooms and furnishing rooms. Flintco, LLC offers pre-construction work, BIG RED DOG Engineering as civil engineer, dwg as landscape architect and Urbanspace for project sales and marketing.

The news of the proposed construction follows Intracorp’s recent announcement of the opening of its new Austin office at 401 Congress Ave., led by Texas real estate veteran and Austinite Brad Stein, who runs the company’s operations in Texas will run.
