Man holds East Austin convenience store employees at gunpoint

The Austin Police Department is looking for a man who allegedly held two employees at gunpoint in a central East Austin supermarket.

APD says that just before 10 p.m. on Nov. 27, a suspect drove into the parking lot of Mike’s Mini Mart at 7101 Ed Bluestein Blvd. and was idle in several places before parking next to one of the gas pumps and entering the store.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male who is estimated to be over 20 years old, has short black hair, is thin to medium height, and is between 5’10 “and 6” tall. (Austin Police Department)

Inside, the man held two shop clerks at gunpoint and demanded money. He fled the store with an unknown amount of money, and APD says he was last seen driving east on Purple Sage.

The sellers were physically unharmed.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male who is estimated to be over 20 years old, has short black hair, is thin to medium height, and is between 5’10 “and 6” tall. He has a notable irregularity on his right hand between his thumb and wrist. He was most recently seen wearing large stud-style studs, black clothing, a baseball cap with a red and blue-green logo, black face covering, and black and red shoes.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a dark gray Ford Fusion Hybrid.
