Meanwhile, another drive for residents in the Austin area took place on Saturday for those affected by COVID-19.

UPLIFT Austin took place in a variety of locations on Saturday morning – the events aimed at distributing supplies to black and brown communities in Travis County.

According to the UPLIFT Austin website, the event was organized to help mitigate the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on people of color, particularly in Travis County.

The event was sponsored by several local groups and through a partnership with Proctor & Gamble was ready to distribute over $ 200,000 worth of supplies.
