Easy Tiger roars into East Austin with new bakery and beer garden

Last fall, Easy Tiger left its original downtown location and said goodbye to his beloved home on East Sixth Street after nearly a decade. In February, the Austin-based Concept (or should we say baked in Austin?) Opens its newest store at 1501 E. Seventh St., just blocks away.

“We are entering this exciting new chapter with a transformative year behind us,” said dough puncher David Norman, who opened Easy Tiger’s first bakery in 2011. “We are so proud to be part of reopening the city and supporting our neighbors – part of what makes Austin so special. “

The newest Easy Tiger has its signature collection of Old World style breads, European style pastries, soft pretzels, signature sandwiches, craft beers and cocktails.

Easy Tiger will take over a gem of a building that last served as event space for Parkside Projects, but was originally built for the high-end French restaurant LaV, which closed in 2016. It also has nearly 15,000 square meters of outdoor space as well as exquisite interiors. Both will also be available for private events.

Despite the pandemic, Easy Tiger has continued to grow over the past 12 months and even opened a new location on South Lamar Boulevard in October. The wholesale business with retail partners like HEB and Whole Foods Market has also grown.

“We’re keeping our promise to return downtown,” CEO Mike Stitt said in a press release. “We are grateful to everyone who has supported Easy Tiger this year and feels a tremendous weight on our shoulders to repay it, starting with our newest location on the east side where we will create 60 more jobs for Austin.”

Current vacancies include bartenders, dishwashers, barista, bar back / busser, host as well as preparatory and line chef positions.
