City of Austin hiring, training lifeguards for the summer season

The Austin Parks and Recreation Department’s Aquatic Division is now accepting applications for lifeguard positions for the summer season.

Lifeguard positions start at $ 15 per hour.

Those interested in becoming a lifeguard must be at least 15 years old. Applicants must also complete training and certification to be hired.

New and returning lifeguards must complete the application and submit documentation before they can enroll for training, according to the Austin Department of Parks and Recreation (PARD).

“Being a lifeguard means putting safety first,” said PARD. “Our goal is to ensure the safety of employees while providing safe services and facilities to the public.”
