Austin suburb announces massive hub for restaurants and entertainment

The highly anticipated mixed-use Northline development in Leander has nailed an anchor tenant. And it’s a whopper.

Northline Leander Development Co., the lead developer of Northline, and real estate services company Lincoln Property Co. announced on Oct. 8 that The HUB, a food, beverage and entertainment venue, would be the main tenant of the project. The HUB currently operates a location in the Florida Panhandle. The concept will be extended to Leander and other cities.

The HUB at Northline offers restaurants, bars and shops around a central lawn and patio area with covered picnic tables and lounge furniture. The venue will be equipped with an event stage and a covered pavilion with an LED jumbotron.

“The HUB summarizes everything that Northline represents. It’s a premium destination where parents can have a drink together and let their kids run free, ”said Alex Tynberg, owner and developer of Northline, in a press release. “I got the chance to visit the original location and with a concert on the stage and kids dancing on the lawn, I was absolutely delighted with the atmosphere. I am so excited to offer Leander this exciting convenience. ”

Construction of the $ 800 million development announced in 2018 began in March. In total, it is expected to take eight to ten years for the project to be completed.

Northline is planned as Leander’s new downtown district. It is being built on 115 acres between US Highway 183 and Toll Road 183A. “Northline will be a one-stop-shop community where residents and visitors can come for all their needs,” said David Neher, executive vice president of Lincoln.
