Austin Public Health Weekly Press Conference on COVID-19 – 1/22/21
Officials discuss the latest coronavirus data and answer questions from the media.
Austin, Texas – – Austin Public Health provides weekly updates on the coronavirus, including the latest numbers and the launch of the vaccine.
Today’s update comes after APH recently added information on patients currently enrolled at the Alternate Care Site at the Austin Convention Center to its COVID-19 monitoring dashboard.
As of January 20th, the dashboard will show the number of patients cared for as part of the daily updates in the ACS.

According to APH, patients currently admitted to the ACS are also included in the total number of hospitalizations and daily number of admissions. Similar to patients admitted to the intensive care unit and patients who have been ventilated, ACS patients will be a subset of the entire hospital population.
Patients arriving at the ACS are counted as discharged from hospital, which has little impact on daily admission numbers of APH, says APH.
Earlier this week, APH officials spoke at a joint meeting of the Travis County Commissioners Court and Austin City Council.
