Austin Food Delivery Program Aims To Help Keep Community Safe

AUSTIN, TX – To minimize the risk of exposure to coronavirus or COVID-19 in those ages 55+ or those with compromised immune systems, CapMetro and local product company Good Apple have launched a program to deliver fresh, healthy products to the community .

The program aims to keep vulnerable populations at home and have access to healthy food. The CapMetro MetroAccess team and Good Apple have partnered to deliver a week’s worth of fresh and non-perishable products to certain households. You must be at least 55 years old or immunocompromised to be eligible for service. Deliveries are offered on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Deliveries on Tuesday and Thursday are offered from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

There will be 240 deliveries per day with an initial allotment of 2,000 meals, and each household will receive deliveries proportional to the number of residents. To learn more or to request delivery, visit Good Apple’s application page HERE or call (737) 228-3558.
