Austin food chain opens fourth location in San Antonio this weekend

Because of the Texas snow storm, Austin-based Torchy’s Tacos have postponed opening their fourth location in San Antonio.

The popular restaurant chain originally planned to open its Medical Center at 8435 Wurzbach Road on Wednesday, February 17th. The company announced to MySA.com that it will now open at 9 a.m. on Saturday, February 20.

To celebrate, Torchy is offering seven lucky guests the chance to win a $ 100 Taco Money gift card to satisfy their cravings. Taco junkies can take part in the raffle during the opening week, February 20-27, by visiting the restaurant and scanning a unique QR code. The winners are drawn daily.

The restaurant has a 400 square meter indoor space and a large balcony on the outdoor terrace (perfect for sipping margaritas!). It is open Mondays to Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Fridays from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

In September 2019, Torchy announced its plans for the Medical Center’s taco spot. Torchy’s Tacos hopes to open its fifth San Antonio office at Loop 1604 and Bandera Road this summer, the company confirmed last month.

In 2014, Torchy’s opened its first San Antonio location in the Lincoln Heights stores on Basse Road. The company opened its second location in The Rim in 2018 and a third 18210 Sonterra Place in 2019.

Torchy’s has many unique types of taco offerings as well as a full bar. The chain also offers a grande burrito with a choice of chicken, pork, beef or vegetables, and the Airstream salad with romaine, rocket, grilled corn, peppers, pistachios, Cotija cheese, chipotle sauce and champagne vinaigrette.
