The expansion club Austin FC has signed free-agent striker Aaron Schoenfeld for the 2021 season, the club announced on Thursday.
The 30-year-old American made 14 games (three starts) with Minnesota United last season and scored one goal.
“Aaron is a versatile player who has gained valuable MLS and international experience throughout his career,” said Sporting Director Claudio Reyna in a press release. “We look forward to incorporating him into our style of play and adding more depth to our growing squad.”
Schönfeld had five goals and three assists in 51 games (14 starts) with the Columbus Crew from 2012-15.
He spent the next four seasons in the Israeli Premier League before signing with Minnesota last February.
