Austin entertainment complex floats into massive Hill Country property

Something dreamy happens in the hill country.

A brand new, one-of-a-kind entertainment, beer garden and art venue, aptly named Dreamland, will open in Dripping Springs on Friday, February 5th. The ambitious new project occupies 64 acres at 2770 W. Hwy 290.

If the description sounds like a lot, it’s because this place is a lot. Among the attractions of Dreamland:

  • two music stages

  • Sculptures and murals by artists around the world, curated by Austin-based artist Gareth Maguire

  • diverse dishes

  • A beer garden and taproom with 50 local beers, ciders and kombuchas, plus 40 wines from central Texas

The playground also offers a variety of recreational opportunities, including one of the most challenging mini golf courses in the world, according to Dreamland. The professionally designed course is divided into the challenge course, an 18-hole course with three levels of difficulty, which together make 54 unique holes, and the dream course, a separate, shorter 18-hole course “with the chance of a hole”. in-one on most holes. “

And if you’re looking for something funkier than extreme putt-putt, the property also has four weather-protected, lighted spots for pickle ball (a paddleball sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis). Note that these two special activities are chargeable, but most things in Dreamland, including the Texas-shaped putting green and children’s play area and splash pad, are free.

As if the sheer number of things to do wasn’t enough, Dreamland also has a “Fun with Purpose” goal, which includes sustainability efforts like rainwater harvesting and solar energy built into the design. It also has partnerships with several non-profit organizations such as the ASK Charitable Foundation, the Nobelity Project, the Andy Roddick Foundation, and others.

“We have long envisioned Dreamland as a place that reflects Texas’s natural heritage and creates an inclusive experience where all guests are welcome,” said owner and founder Steve Kuhn in a press release. “It was so fulfilling to see Dreamland come to life. There really is something for everyone here. “

Dreamland opens with a range of security measures including internal mask requirements for employees and guests, socially distant layouts, frequent disinfection of devices and touch-sensitive surfaces, and much more.

Although Dreamland opens on February 5th, the entertainment mecca will have its official opening weekend from March 12th to 13th. Bob Schneider and Kalu and the Electric Joint open the celebrations on Friday March 12th and Bruce Robinson, Kelly Willis and Ray Prim are bringing the party on Saturday March 13th.
