Austin company books unique local lodgings for the ultimate staycation

Austin-based vacation rental company Top Trip Rentals has renamed itself Lodgewell and plans to expand its reach nationwide.

Connecting clients to furnished private homes primarily in Austin and the Texas Hill Country, Lodgewell places a special emphasis on providing memorable or unique accommodations that are tailored to each guest’s specific needs.

Rental options include a funky, 3,400 square foot retreat on Lake LBJ (The Shorewood); a two-story downtown loft with a nearly 180-degree view (The Littlefields); a 1,100 square meter “fairy tale house” (The Bloomhouse); or an architectural marvel that you can swim inside (The Graeber).

The company’s journey began about five years ago when it turned the 24-loft Littlefield Quarters in downtown Austin into a vacation home now known as The Littlefields.

Unlike Airbnb and similar rental services, Lodgewell manages homes that it owns or rents, and also manages properties on behalf of their owners. It also limits the number of rentals at each location, a decision the company calls “prioritizing the quality of the guest experience over the amount of options”.

Lodgewell properties can be rented daily, weekly or monthly.

In an Aug. 4 publication, Lodgewell says it “has an emphasis on providing beyond service in connection with their unique private accommodations. This provides a change of scene with professional hospitality so many people are desperate these days. ”

“People need security in their lives more than ever,” says Chereen Fisher, founder of Lodgewell. “That’s why I’m using my 23 years of experience in the hotel industry to develop something bigger that will give people the confidence to get away, something that only professional hosts can offer and that Lodgewell will deliver.”

Lodgewell was founded in 2007 and plans to expand across Texas, including nearby Wimberley, and other states next year.
