Austin chefs selling Valentine’s Day treats to support service industry

It’s time to start thinking about candy for your candy.

The online cake shop offers curated boxes of cakes, biscuits and cakes from pastry chefs and bakers from Abby Jane Bakeshop, Chicken Salad Shop, Retail Market & Restaurant, Lorraine Bakery, Bento Picnic, Cold Ones Pops, Contigo, Cookbook Bakery, El Alma Café y Cantina, Abroad & Inland, Garbo’s, Julie Myrtille Bakery, Killa Wasi, Lolas Donuts, Sara’s Sweets, SRSLY Chocolate and Sugar Mamas Bakeshop.

Examples include mochi butter cake, pomegranate brownies, cruller, grapefruit pie, focaccia, meringue, and even cocktails.

Sweet and savory options start at $ 12. Customers can either pick up orders for free at Last Straw, 914 E. Sixth St. on February 14th, or choose the $ 10 delivery fee to benefit service industry workers affected by the pandemic. Each box also includes a $ 5 donation to AFWA to help the nonprofit continue its mission to support the central Texas community through culinary innovation grants and educational programs.
