Austin cannabis company grows with new medical marijuana dispensaries

Five new medical marijuana dispensaries roll into Texas. Austin-based Texas Original Compassionate Cultivation, one of only three licensed medical cannabis providers in Texas, announced that it is opening five new pharmacies across the state.

Compassionate Cultivation’s new facilities officially opened on July 14th in San Antonio, Houston and Plano, offering cannabis products for those with medical marijuana prescriptions. (Sorry, Texas hasn’t legalized recreational herbs.) Previously, patients across Texas had to drive to Compassionate Cultivation’s Austin headquarters or pay a $ 25 delivery fee to receive their medical marijuana.

“Patients deserve easy and convenient access to life-changing drugs that make their lives better – and that includes medical marijuana,” said CEO Morris Denton. “Through our strategic relationships … we’re excited to bring our products so much closer to our patients’ homes and remove barriers to acquiring the critical medicine they and their families need.”

Although billed as “temporary pharmacies,” a representative says the new facilities will remain open indefinitely. Compassionate Cultivation does not disclose the exact address of the San Antonio pharmacy, just saying that it is “in the northeastern part of town” and is open on Fridays from 11am to 2pm.

Together with San Antonio, the company opened an additional pharmacy in Dallas and three in Houston. The Dallas area facility is open Wednesdays from noon to 3 p.m.

The Houston locations are open Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Katy location is open on Fridays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Individuals with a valid prescription can obtain additional information, including addresses, through the company’s website or by calling 512-614-0343.
