Austin-Bergstrom will soon be offering direct flights to Hawaii

Starting in April, people will be able to fly non-stop from Austin to Hawaii with Hawaiian Airlines.

A new destination at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport hopes to rekindle interest in flying.

“We have seen a drop in passengers since the pandemic began, but we are seeing a gradual increase in passenger numbers month by month. We saw more passengers on Thanksgiving Day, ”said Sam Haynes, Austin-Bergstrom public information specialist.

Many came to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport the day before Thanksgiving to visit their families during that time.

“We are optimistic about the future of air travel. We understand that at the moment it is certainly a personal decision and that there are people who are not familiar with travel at the moment.
