Groceries in the Austin area will reopen at adjusted times in winter weather

Historic winter weather forced many local grocery stores to close yesterday, but many of them will try to reopen today. FOX 7 Austin’s Tierra new boom has details.

The historic winter storm forced many grocery stores in the Austin area to close their doors on Monday to ensure the safety of employees and customers. Today many are opening again. If you have to go to the store, don’t drive and don’t go.

HEB has reopened some stores in the Austin area and its Wimberley location from 12:00 PM and closing at 5:00 PM. The Favor Senior Support Line will be closed and delivery orders on the roadside are expected to be limited or canceled entirely. The city had long lines when the shops opened their doors.

Westgate Central Market will remain closed, but the North Lamar location will be open until 5:00 p.m. Current information on the opening times of HEB and Central Market can be found here.

Whole Foods Market stores also open at noon. Fiesta Mart stores are open until 5:00 p.m., and Randalls stores are also open.

Wheatsville Co-op’s South Lamar site is closed, but the Guadalupe site will be open until 10:00 p.m. but with limited capacity and smaller crews.
