APD’s mounted patrol horses spent storm at Austin Equestrian Center

Austin Police took special measures last week to protect the horses from the wintry weather conditions in front of their mounted patrol. All 16 horses were taken to the Austin Equestrian Center in Cedar Creek during Winter Storm Uri.

Two APD officers stayed with the horses during the storm to ensure their safety. According to the Austin Police Department, the horses were excellent as they needed protection for long periods of time.

As the weather warmed up all week, the horses were allowed to play around and run around the Austin Equestrian Center.
