Austin, Texas – – The Austin Police are seeking help from the public in identifying a man who they say robbed a Texaco in north Austin at gunpoint.
APD reports that a 9-1-1 call came in around 4:15 p.m. on Jan. 16 reporting a major robbery at Texaco Austin on the 8600 block of Research Boulevard on South Service Street. When the officers arrived, they spoke to a shop clerk who said a man walked into the shop and showed a gun while demanding money in Spanish.

The suspect then fled the scene with an unknown amount of money from the cash register. APD says he was last seen running west on Research Boulevard to 183 Frontstrasse. The shop clerk was physically unharmed.
The suspect is described as a Spanish man who spoke Spanish during the incident. He was described as small and was last seen in rolled up jeans, a BOSS camouflage hat, a black Adidas shirt with long sleeves to the elbows and a white headscarf over the lower half of his face.

Detectives ask anyone with information on the incident to call the APD Robbery hotline at 512-974-5092, Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS, submit a tip on the Crime Stoppers website, or use the Crime Stoppers app. All information is anonymous and can be rewarded with rewards of up to $ 1,000.
