APD investigating robbery of North Austin western wear store

The Austin Police are seeking help from the public in identifying a suspect in a robbery at a western clothing store in North Austin.

According to the APD, a man walked into the Furia Western Wear store at 6305 Cameron Road at around 2 p.m. on Feb.21 and started asking for various products. Then he pointed a gun and forced a store clerk behind the counter, where he was taking cash from multiple registers.

The man then fled the scene in a white limousine with an unknown amount of money. The branch employees were physically unharmed, says APD.

The suspect is described as:

  • Black man
  • About 5’7 “
  • Stocky build
  • Estimated between 30 and 35 years old
  • Black hair, black mustache / goatee
  • Last seen in a black tracksuit with white stripes, black sports-style shoes, a black hat made of leather-like material with the word “Austin” and a gold watch

The suspect’s vehicle is described as:

  • White or light-colored sedan, possibly a Toyota Camry
  • Rear spare wheel, passenger side
  • Estimated between model year 2007 and 2011

Detectives ask anyone with information on the case to call the APD Robbery hotline at 512-974-5092, Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS, submit a tip on the Crime Stoppers website, or use the Crime Stoppers app. All information is anonymous and can be rewarded with rewards of up to $ 1,000.
