Another Queer Eye star adopts furry new friend from Austin Pets Alive!

Queer Eye went to the dogs, honey. After the production stop in Austin triggered by the pandemic, queer eye food guru Antoni Porowski has a dog, Neon, from Austin Pets Alive! Now the show’s foster diva Jonathan Van Ness has made a high-heeled step into the dog rescue department.

Austin Pets Alive lives on July 19th! tweeted that Van Ness has adopted a tan pooch named Pablo. “Pablo’s life is getting so much more fabulous,” proclaimed the non-profit animal shelter. On Instagram, Van Ness called Pablo “the last member of my animal Fab 5”.

Porowski and Van Ness are two of the “Fab 5” co-hosts of Queer Eye, the monster hit on Netflix that overworks people whose lives need a bit of zhuzing. In March, Queer Eye was nearing completion of the first episode of its sixth season in Austin when the pandemic broke out and the show was forced to stop filming.

During their quarantine, Porowski, Van Ness and co-host Bobby Berk (the design expert) sat in Austin. Porowski and Berk have since returned home, but Van Ness stayed in Austin. However, Van Ness reported on Instagram on July 19 that he and Pablo – named after artist Pablo Picasso – and his cats were leaving Austin for “a road trip from the quarantine casa, but Texas will be in our future again “.

Following the production stoppage caused by the pandemic, Queer Eye has resumed casting for Austin-based season six, but Netflix isn’t sure when filming will start again.
