2020 Austin Food + Wine Festival canceled due to COVID-19 concerns

AUSTIN (KXAN) – The Austin Food + Wine Festival 2020 has been canceled.

The festival posted an update on Facebook last week stating that it intends to comply with local health orders.

“We were hoping to continue our annual tradition of celebrating great food, wine and friends, but with the extension of Austin’s stay-at-home order through December, we made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s festival,” it says the post.

The festival announced that ticket holders would receive information about refund options within 24 hours. Options include the option to extend your tickets to 2021 or donate the ticket value to the Austin Food & Wine Alliance. Allianz is a not for profit organization that supports the culinary community in central Texas.

The festival urges the public to continue to support restaurants by ordering take-away or eat-in whenever possible.

The Austin Food + Wine Festival plans to return for its 10th anniversary next year from November 5-7.
